Pfc Frederick B. Di Maio graduated from Jesuit High School and was employed at McCloskey and company shipyards.

He enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 22 February 1942 and was sent overseas in July 1942.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of St. James France.
