Pvt Clayton M. Faile attended high school for one year and worked on a farm.

He enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 20 September 1944 and was only overseas for about one month when he was killed.

Three of his brothers also served. Bernard was with the Army in France, Willie was an engineer and gunner on a B-26 also in France and Woodrow was fighting in the Pacific.
