Pfc Michael C. Zurovcik attended high school for four years and was employed at the National Tube Company before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 5 May 1943. He was sent overseas in May 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
