Pfc Orville L. Heidbrink attended high school for three years and was employed at the Kroger Grocery & Baking Company before he enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 23 August 1943. He was sent overseas in July 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
