Pvt Irwin W. Newman was employed at the Carnegie Illinois Steel Company before he enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 10 Fenruary 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.

He is remembered at the Homestead Hebrew Cemetery in Homestead, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
