1st Lt Otis E. Bonebrake was employed at the Kansas State Highway Commission before he enlisted.He was fatally wounded to the head by enemy gunfire and died at a German medical aid station.
His brother Buford E. Bonebrake was a fireman on the USS Arizona and was killed on 7 December 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor and is entombed on the ship. His name is listed on the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
