Pfc Charles H. Reese was employed by Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 17 March 1943.

He was overseas for only three months when he was killed by artillery shell fragments to his leg.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
