Sgt Walter E. Glod attended college for two years and was employed at the Montgomery Ward & Company before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 27 July 1942.He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
