Sgt Elbert L. Loyd was employed at the C. C. Cole Hotel Bristol, Virginia before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Richmond, Virginia on 26 June 1942.He was killed by an artillery shell.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
