Sgt William E. Klase graduated from Ashland High School and entered Gettysburg College. He was a former First Ward Councilman of Ashland, Pennsylvania and a manager of Klase's Shoe Store before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 24 November 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.
