S/Sgt Herbert Paulley was employed at the Roy Hart Trucking Business before he enlisted in Louisville, Kentucky on 16 August 1943.He was killed by machinegun fire in his liver and kidney.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
