Pfc Harry O. Evans attended high school for four years and was a printer at the King-Murphy Press of Greensburg for ten years before he enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 24 August 1943.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest and leg.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
