Sgt Edward F. Kelly was a photographer before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 29 July 1943. He was sent overseas in September 1944.

He was seriously wounded in action on 15 December 1944 and was killed by small arms fire to his chest and ribs.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
