Pfc Arthur J. Mau attended Marshall High School and was employed at the B.M. Allen Marshall Furnace Company before he enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 26 March 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He is remembered at the Newton Township Cemetery in Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan.
