Pfc Peyton V. Montgomery attended Brosville High School and was employed at the Dan River Cotton Mill before he enlisted in Roanoke, Virginia on 16 June 1942.He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
