Pfc Ralph E. Wright was sent to Europe in October 1944.He was taken prisoner of war and died at 23.45 hrs. from gangrene after an injury of the right arm above the elbow by a shell-splinter in the German Feldlazarett N° 27566 that was stationed in Landau in der Pfalz, Germany.
He was initially buried at the Garrison Cemetery of Landau in der Pfalz on 22 January 1945.
He is remembered at the Liberty Grove Cemetery in Liberty Grove, Delta County, Texas.
