Pvt John E. West attended high school for 2 years before he enlisted in Clarksburg, West Virginia on 28 August 1943.
He was seriously wounded on 26 August 1944 and died on 29 August 1944.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
