Pvt Roy E. Barrett enlisted at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on 17 April 1944.He was reported missing in action on November 16, 1944 in the battle for the Hürtgen Forest. He had only arrived to the Hürtgen Forest the previous day, and was a part of replacements for the 4th Division, 12th Infantry.
His remains were found in Germeter and initially registered as Unknown X-5756. He was evacuated to Ardennes Cemetery and could be identified at the identification center.
