Pvt Libaerato A. Di Lorio was a construction worker before he volunteered for the U.S. Army in Providence, Rhode Island on 24 November 1942.Pvt Di Lorio was a member of a forward observers party (three men in total), who were heading to a location currently held by Easy Company, southwest of Hürtgen on 11 November 1944. According to a survivor of this team (who was wounded), the team was caught in an artillery barrage. Pvt Di Iorio was exiting the woods and crossing a road when hit by artillery and killed.
He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
