Pvt Donald Ward was employed at the Universal Cyclops Steel Corp.He enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 27 November 1943. He received his basic training at Camp Wolters, Texas and left for overseas duty in June 1944.
He was seriously wounded on 16 November 1944 and died later that day in the 3rd Battalion Aid Station.
The photo shows his wife Louise and daughters Mary Ellen and Donna Sue.
