Lt. Albert F. Church, graduated from Syracuse University and was principal of Nichols High School.He was reported wounded in action near the German border 21 January 1945. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart. After recovering, he rejoined his unit on 26 February 1945.
His brother Glenn also served overseas.
