Pfc Peter Alex was a tinsmith or a coppersmith before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 18 January 1943.

He was most likely killed by artillery fire because his body suffered shrapnel wounds in the left shoulder.

He was first buried on 19 December 1944. He was disinterred on 20 October 1947 and given his final resting place on 2 May 1949.
