Pvt. Carl F. Stakem enlisted at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland and was sent overseas on 6 October 1944.He went overseas 6 October.
He was the uncle of Lt. Robert S. Mitchell, who died on 19 November 1944 from wounds received in action.
The remains of Pvt Stakem were found in Germeter and initially registered as Unknown X-5753. He was evacuated to Ardennes Cemetery and could be identified at the identification center.
