1st Lt Adelbert R. Cagle attended Clarksville High School.

He joined the National Guard in Clarksville, Texas on 25 November 1940 and trained at Camp Bowie, Texas and took OCS training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

His remains were found in Vossenack and initially registered as Unknown X-5504. He was evacuated to Ardennes Cemetery and could be identified at the research facilities there.
