Donald E. Halsey was maaried to Everal I. Stenerson on 28 June 1937. He worked at the shipyards in Tacoma.

His brother, Delbert W. Halsey, was a pilot in the U.S. Navy and was killed in Battle of Midway on 5 June 1943. He is listed on the Tablets of the Missing in Honolulu.
