Pfc Glen F. Pickering enlisted at Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas on 10 January 1944. He attended high school for 4 years and was a driver before he enlisted.

His brother Carl A. Pickering also died in service on 27 April 1943 and is buried at the American Military Cemetery of Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia.
