2nd Lt Loring Lane graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in business administration in 1940.

He trained at Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky and Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi. He was overseas for only four months when he was killed.

He was taken prisoner on 6 October 1944.

He was executed or shot while attempting to escape in Stalag XII-A. The exact circumstances are not known.

2nd Lt Lane is memorialized at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.

His picture was taken at the university on 1940.
