More information

Pvt William M. Brewer enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 11 November 1943. He was trained at Camp Blanding, Florida and was sent overseas in July of 1944.

He was wounded by shrapnel in the head on 13 October and died in a field hospital in Belgium a day later. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Germeter-Vossenack.

He was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on the day he died. He was disinterred on 3 November 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 6 November 1947. He was given his final resting place on 21 June 1948.
