More information

Pvt Frank H. Wiggins attended high school for 2 years and formerly worked at the Motor Cargo Co.

He enlisted at Camp Perry, Lacarne, Ohio on 14 January 1942. He had fought through the African deserts in his almost three years of duty overseas. He had recovered from foot wounds received in France early in the war and had returned safely to his outfit after being on the missing list for three months, following a battle in Germany in December.

When Pvt Wiggins last wrote his wife Gleneva, shortly before his death he told her of cooking meals in the kitchen of a German house. "I've been up for furlough for some time", he wrote happily. Before he was killed he wrote his wife, "Peggy, I think it will soon be over and we can be together again".
