2nd Lt Frank Moore was employed in the office of the Davidson mine of the Pittsburgh Coke and Chemical Co.

He joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort Brady, Michigan on 8 August 1939. He was selected for Officers’ Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georga, where he was commissioned in April 1943. On 4 July 1944 he was sent overseas.
