More information

Pvt Arthur L. Britton attended high school for 4 years and was a wall painter before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 6 January 1944.

Pvt Britton was killed by rifle fire.

The remains of Pvt Britton were discovered on the ground in the woods of Germeter on 17 June 1946 and initially identified by an Ohio driver's license that was found on him. However, by the authority of the American Grave Registration Service his remains were redesignated as Unknown X-4058 and buried as such in a temporary grave at Ardennes on 6 August 1946.

In April 1949 his remains were disinterred and identified by comparing his dental records with his tooth charts.

He was given his final resting place on 19 April 1950.
