Pvt William H. Pustelnik graduated from Southwestern High School in 1940. He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Detroit, Michigan on 19 October 1942, originally in the Air Corps. He was employed as a machinist at Pfaff Sash & Door Company.

His brother, Sgt George H. Pustelnik died on 13 June 13 1944 and is buried at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mere in France.

The picture was taken in high school in 1940.
