2nd Lt Leo Hennesy enlisted in 1935. He first served at Ft Jay in the 16th Infantry until approximately 1938 when he was PCS'ed to the Panama Canal Zone for several years. After serving in the Panama Canal Zone he was selected for one of the first OCS classes at Ft Benning. He did not graduate from his OCS class as he was discharged from the OCS for fighting.
