1st Lt Thomas W. Yarborough graduated from Jenkinsville High School.

He was employed at the South Carolina Electric and Gas company before he enlisted at Fort Jackson, South Carolina on 11 January 1941.

He finished Officers Candidate School in September 1942 and was sent overseas in October 1943. He landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day.

On the day of his death Lt Yarborough had been in action only one day after recovering from wounds he suffered on 16 April.

1st Lt Thomas W. Yarborough is remembered at the Little River Cemetery in Jenkinsville, Fairfield County, South Carolina.
