T/Sgt John W. Dorulla enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 28 January 1942.He was a miner before he enlisted. He was awarded the Silver Star twice, the second time posthumously, for gallantry in action.
He was wounded three times, he participated in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, France, Belgium and Germany. He 'got up to the Ruhr River' and was at Eschweiler when he learned he was due for a furlough.
