Cpl Edward J. Kerr attended Sewickley High School and was employed by National Electric Products Company.

His hobby was building model airplanes.

He enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 9 June 1943. He was stationed in El Paso, Texas at William Beaumont Hospital, where he trained and in 1943 he graduated from The school of Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital. Cpl. Kerr went overseas in February 1945.

His daughter was seven weeks old when he was killed.
