2nd Lt Clyde E. Teal joined the Regular Army on 4 January 1940. He was sent overseas in June, 1942.

His Silver Star was awarded for gallantry in action on 6 June 1944 in the vicinity of St. Laurent-Sur-Mer, Normandy.
