Pfc Romolo Chavez attended Salomon Luna High School and was a farmer and cattle grower.

He enlisted at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas on 1 May 1942.

He was reported wounded in action in Casablanca, North Africa on 8 november 1942. He also served in Italy before he unit was transferred to Northern Europe.

His brother, Napoleon Chavez also served in Europe.
