Pvt Lloyd L. Rees enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 6 April 1944 and received basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
He went overseas with an infantry division of the First army in September and took part in the invasion.
He attended high school for 1 year.

He is remembered on the headstone were his wife and son are buried at the Strong Cemetery in Albany, Delaware County, Indiana.
