S/Sgt Robert W. Bresette attended Heuvelton High School and was employed on his father's farm before he enlisted in Utica, New York on 27 January 1943.He received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. He was sent to England in October 1943, and landed at Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944. He was wounded in November 1944.
He was awarded the Silver Star twice (the second time posthumously) for gallantry in action in connection with combat operations against the enemy.
