More information

Pvt William E. Mc Combs enlisted on 10 August 1942.

William Mc Combs was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Schoenberg, Germany on 16 December 1944.

He was held prisoner in Stalag VIII-A in Görlitz, Germany and died of pneumonia, probably during a forced march after the camp was evacuated. His group was moved to Moosburg, Germany but it is not certain he died on the way to this camp or in the camp itself.
