Pfc William J. Cannon graduated from Everett High School in 1929. He also attended Bentley College. He was a retail manager.

He enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 30 March 1944.

He was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Schlausenbach on 16 December 1944. He died of wounds in Stalag IV-B.

Pfc Cannon was initially buried at Margraten in a temporary grave on 22 April 1945. After being disinterred and after the cemetery was given a permanent status, he was given his final resting place on 11 May 1949.

The first two pictures were taken in high school in 1929 and college in 1935.
