T/5 William T. Hayes worked for the Petroleum Heat and Power Co. before he enlisted in New Haven, Connecticut on 9 March 1943.He was taken prisoner on 16 December 1944 and died of pneumonia, five days after he was liberated from in Stalag IV-B.
