2nd Lt Bernard M. Christensen was born as Bjarne Frandsen and immigrated with his parents in 1921 from Copenhagen. He graduated from Woodbridge High School and attended Rutgers College. He was a financial institution clerk.He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 2 October 1941.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
