Pfc Francis P. Muldoon attended 1 year of high school and was a filling station attendant.He enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 24 March 1944.
He was taken prisoner of war in the vicinity of Schlausenberg, Germany on 16 December 1944 and was imprisoned at Stalag IV-B in Mülberg, Germany. The camp was liberated by the Soviet Army.
His body was not recovered as he may have died on one of the death marches as the Germans forced the POW's to march west to avoid the Soviet Army.
