T/Sgt Samuel F. Baxter was a power station operator before he enlisted in Jacksonville AAF, Florida on 25 August 1941.

He was wounded by a shell fragment at his machine gun position and taken prisoner on 16 December 1944. He most likely died at Stalag XII-A

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
