Pfc Donald R. Ryan was taken prisoner of war in the vicinity of Schlausenbach, Germany on 16 December 1944.He died in a POW camp and was initially buried at the East Cemetery at Leipzig/Pegau. He was disinterred by an American Search and Recovery Team on 12 August 1947 and evacuated to Ardennes Cemetery.
