Capt William H. Perkins graduated from the Academy of Richmond County High School in 1930 and attended junior college in 1931. He served in the R.O.T.C. program attaining the rank of Captain.Capt Perkins was taken prisoner on 16 December 1944 in the vicinity of Oberlascheid, Germany. At that moment he must have been wounded and probably died of his wounds in a German field hospital. The exact circumstances and location are not known.
