Pvt Jim H. Gilmore worked on a farm.He enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 23 December 1943.
He was taken prisoner of war in the vicinity of Schlausenbach, Germany on 16 December 1944 and was imprisoned at Stalag IX B, Germany. The camp was liberated on 4 April 1945 by the U.S Army.
