Pfc Elijah D. Flowers graduated from Louisville Male High School and worked in a bakery.

He enlisted in December 1942 and was sent overseas in June 1944.

He was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Clervaux, Luxembourg on 20 December 1944 and, according to POW records, died during a transport from Stalag 12A to Stalag 9B.
